Anger is usually an intense emotional response often preceded by feelings of irritability and frustration.
An angry person may lose his/her objectivity, empathy, prudence, or thoughtfulness and may in some cases cause harm to themselves or others.
Extreme levels of anger are called rage. It can be a defence mechanism to hide fear and hurt.
A person experiencing anger or rage will also experience physical conditions, such as increased heart rate, elevated blood pressure, and increased levels of adrenaline.
