Back Ground:

Peter Zapfella was one of the first therapists in 2008, to adopt Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) or Internet telephony to conduct one-on-one therapies around the world. Before that, he had been experimenting with the technology but found it too unreliable. These technologies allow for the reception and transmission of audio video by users at different locations around the world, in real-time using any Internet access device.

Peter has seen an enormous improvement in the overall reliability of  VoIP over the past decade, with a vast reduction in picture jitter and drop-outs because of constant improvements in technology. The Australian National Broadband Network (NBN) and the 5G platform are 100 x faster than 4G, so service has improved.

Peter has had countless successful sessions with clients in Europe, North America, Asia, New Zealand, and across Australia including the outback, using Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services including FaceTime, Viber, and FB Messenger, Skype Therapy.

“…randomized controlled studies that have been conducted to date, (show that Skype Therapy) tele-mental health has demonstrated equivalent efficacy compared to face-to-face care in a variety of clinical settings…”Richardson LKFrueh BCGrubaugh ALEgede LElhai JDCurrent Directions in Videoconferencing Tele-Mental Health Research.

Now you can benefit from a personalized session with Peter Zapfella from almost anywhere in the world.

The Covid-19 pandemic has seen the emergence of Zoom for remote therapy.  On their web site, they explain,

“Video-based telehealth enables real-time collaboration and communications with doctors, labs, and specialists unencumbered by geographic constraints. Telehealth solutions can:

  • Provide health education and preventative care for high-risk populations.
  • Improve care and capabilities in rural areas with limited broadband connectivity.
  • Provide behavioral and mental health services in one-on-one or group settings that patients can join from their homes.
  • Facilitate widespread and immediate coordination as well as real-time assessment of disaster preparedness and response.
  • Reduce travel and provide cost-effective continuing education/training for healthcare professionals.”

User privacy is secured by end-to-end encryption. End-to-end encryption means that all data (messages, photos, videos, voice, and video calls) are encrypted, or scrambled until it reaches the intended recipient.
