The year was 1998. I had recently gone through the most traumatic crisis of my life.
Due to circumstances, I believed beyond my control, I had lost ‘everything’. I had been financially bankrupted by the actions of another person. I had lost everything I had been working toward.
Just to top it off, I had been accused and charged of an offence by police for which I was innocent. I was being hounded by reporters and television and newspaper cameras. If found guilty I could find myself jailed. I had no money to employ a lawyer.
I found myself ‘stripped bare’. In so many ways I felt bereft, cheated and alone.
As a qualified psychotherapist I was acutely aware that there was something troubling deep within myself that needed to be resolved. Something inside myself was attracting all this destructive, negative energy. I also knew I could not find it, and deal with it without outsider help.
I needed a psychotherapist more than I needed a lawyer. I found someone by recommendation from a friend, which is always the best way.
At the time I lived on a farm in the Keiwa Valley in Northeast Victoria, Australia. The psychotherapist I needed to visit was located in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne, in the lower foothills of the Dandenong Ranges.
So, I took the country train to the city, where I transferred to a metro train which took me to the end of the line at a place called Belgrave. From there I walked to the psychotherapist’s clinic.
It was a former house, renovated into an open plan venue suitable for group meetings and activities. A couple of smaller rooms served as one-on-one therapy rooms.
Our comfortable therapy room had a large white board one wall, and two lounges located opposite each other, each scattered with cushions.
What followed that day was the most confronting and dramatic experience of my life.
The deepest recesses of my unconscious mind revealed that I had been abused by my own grandmother as a baby. I had been so emotionally damaged by this woman, my childhood, my adulthood had never recovered.
The whole therapy process took the better part of the day. I relived the anguish and terror of a 2-year-old boy who was trapped alone with a mad old woman intent on destroying his mind. Through tears I gave him my unconditional love and found forgives for the old woman who knew no better.
Something profound happened that day! I changed in a way I could never have anticipated.
From the clinic I had to walk uphill to a village, then down a pathway to a railway station nested in a valley below. Yet, I realised I was not walking up a hill. I was floating. I was flying just above the ground.
As I gilded past people, I could hear them thinking to themselves. I could hear their incessant chatter to themselves. I felt an undeniable connectedness to everyone and everything.
I could hear other people’s drama’s playing in their minds, like television soap operas. I felt like grabbing them by the shoulders and shaking them awake. Yet I knew I had no right to interfere in their free choice.
At the railway station I purchased a ticket and made my way to the train waiting on one side of the terminus platform. Immediately, as I stepped on to the train, I felt something was horribly wrong with the train carriage.
I stepped off and walked to another carriage. Stepping on I felt the same awful feeling.
I went back to the ticket office and asked the attendant when the next train following the departure of this train was due?
She laughed as she said. “This train is going nowhere. It has broken down. So, when the next train arrives on the other side of the platform, over the public address I will ask all the passengers currently waiting in the broken train to get off that train, and move across to the other train.”
Within an hour I was in the city waiting for my country train. The railway terminal was massive. It was a suburban station and a terminal for both country and interstate trains. There were people everywhere. Some hurriedly coming and going, and hundreds of others waiting, many with suitcases and baggage.
I had not eaten since breakfast, so I decided to buy a sandwich. As I stood in a line of people queued for their turn at the sandwich counter, a clear voice in my mind told me to look carefully at a young man standing in another que who like me was also waiting for his turn at the counter. The voice said, “Look at his face and remember it. He will lose his train ticket and you will find it and return it to him.”
I took a photo of his face in my mind and stored it away. Eventually the waiting que witled down to the point where I was standing at the counter watching a uniformed lady make a sandwich for me. As I turned to walk away, I saw a train ticket left on the counter where the young man I had seen earlier would have been standing when he placed his own order.
I picked up the ticket and went in search for the face I had seen earlier. It was not easy, as there were hundreds of people milling about. I found him with a group of other young people and said, “This is your missing ticket,” and then I walked away.
Apparently, up until that moment he was unaware he had lost his ticket!
Throughout the whole experience, although I was in a crowded chaotic railway station terminus, I felt empowered. I felt a connection to all these people moving too and frow, all going about their business.
Weeks later, in the courtroom, the magistrate heard the prosecution evidence. Then he told them to stop wasting the courts time with frivolous accusations and threw their case out. He told the police that it was obvious to a blind man I had not committed an offence, and what was more, they had charged me with having broken a law that was irrelevant to the charges brought against me. The reporters sitting in the court room silently withdrew.
I knew exactly why accusations had been bought against me and why I had ended up in the courtroom. It was connected to my own child’s death in a previous lifetime, where I had been accused and subsequently killed for something I was innocent. The players in the current drama were the same souls involved in that previous drama. They were accusing me again! But this time they failed.
What was this experience? What was IT?
Is it enlightenment?
Since that time I have been working one-on-one to assist people overcome the emotional ‘weight’ of negativity, self-limiting beliefs, depression, anxiety, trauma and addiction.
I have been gifted techniques that are more effective than anything I had been taught in any of my trainings.
These are blocks we all face to our realisation that we are all enlightened. They are life’s drama we are here to overcome.
Photo of Peter taken from a television interview on YouTube.
Since that time, I have been teaching thousands of people the science behind the relationship between the logical, analytical executive conscious mind (that thinks it is the ‘boss’) and the deep unconscious mind (which controls our emotions and actions). From time-to-time I also talk about our super consciousness, our soul (which understands the BIG picture).
Today I still chop wood and fetch water, but it is with a different perception. It is with a greater understanding of the BIG picture.
I feel I understand why we are here at this time and doing the things we are doing. Everything is as it should be within the drama of life.
Through these dramas of our own making we learn about ’cause’ and ‘effect’. We learn about negative emotions (based on fear) and positive emotions (based on love). We make decisions between them and as a result attract energies to ourselves so we can learn more through ‘pain’ and ‘pleasure’. Pain is the fast way to learn. It is a greatteacher.
Planet earth is a fantastic place to learn about pain. That is why we chose to be here. That is why we chose our parents and the major experiences of our lives. Though these tough lessons we eventually overcome the negativity, as we find it does not serve us.
If I can give you just one take away from all this…..
Counselling, Coaching and Psychotherapy. What is the difference? Understandably, people are confused by these terms and their meaning. For example, a psychologist may be a psychotherapist, but a psychotherapist may not be a psychologist. Neither are psychiatrists.
Counsellors are not Performance Coaches, yet Performance Coaches may also be Counsellors. Counsellors are not psychotherapists, yet psychotherapists and psychologists may use counselling techniques. Counselling-coaching-and-psychotherapy.
Peter Zapfella is not a psychologist or psychiatrist. However, Peter is a counsellor, a performance coach and a psychotherapist.
The CORE VALUES of Counselling, Performance Coaching and Psychotherapy are the same. They are;
RESPECT for your and our dignity and rights (including privacy and confidentiality).
INTEGRITY of your and our communication and service.
COLABORATION and CO OPERATION for the best outcomes of all concerned.
PROFESSIONAL knowledge, ongoing study and trainings.
ALLEVIATING your distress and suffering.
QUALTY enhancement of relationships between ourselves and others.
APPRECIATION of cultural and human diversity and life experiences.
FAIRNESS and ADEQUACY of service.
Define Counselling
Counselling is a process where an individual, couple or family meet with a professional counsellor to talk about issues and challenges they face in their lives.
Trained counsellors work with their clients on strategies to assist them to overcome day to day obstacles and personal challenges that they are facing.
A professional counsellor is registered and trained to provide a genuine, caring and empathic response in a safe and confidential collaboration. Clients are active participants in the process. They learn strategies and techniques. They usually have on going sessions to promote mental health and wellbeing, enhance self-understanding, and resolve concerns.
A trained counsellor has tools and techniques. They can use these tools to support and help you to move through the difficult and challenging, feelings, thoughts and behaviors, or situations that you may be experiencing. The counsellor can provide these tools and techniques as homework for the client to take away and practice and use in their daily life.
Counselling methods may include;
PSYCHODYNAMICS. Long term (such as childhood past traumas) causing current life dysfunctions. (Perhaps presenting as anger issues for example).
STRENGTHS PERSPECTIVES. Goal setting. Enabling better self-management and expectations.
FAMILY THERAPY. Cooperative family and group support sessions. Peter does not currently offer this.
COUNSELLING METHODS include…
Emotional. This is an area Peter has many years’ experiences.
Cognitive/Thinking. Including CBT.
Behaviors.
Gestalt.
Combinations of the above.
The ultimate goal is for the client to make life changing decisions for themselves on the best course of action ahead, with the support of their counsellor.
Ultimately it is the client themselves who will make the decisions and take action. Counselling-coaching-and-psychotherapy.
Define Performance Coaching
Performance Coaching is a development approach based on the use of one-to-one conversations to enhance an individual’s skills, knowledge or work performance.
We can blame our parents, our education, our government, or the economy, however, in truth the results we get in life are a direct reflection of our own unconscious beliefs, attitudes, behaviors, and values.
Using Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Neuro-Semantics, the Emotional Alignment Technique and advanced hypnotherapy methods Peter Zapfella can guide you to:
re-align and delete negative emotions.
lower stress levels.
delete self-limiting beliefs and inner conflict.
delete habits of behavior that block your path forward.
using strategies for success.
stimulate new behaviors.
advanced personal change techniques.
re-align individual and group values.
move forward with better focus and clarity.
Counselling-coaching-and-psychotherapy.
Define Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a talk therapy. It is an effective method to assist people deal with and overcome a variety of mental health issues and emotional difficulties. Psychotherapy can eliminate symptoms so a person can function better increasing well-being.
Peter Zapfella preferers to use hypnotherapy, neurolinguistic programming (NLP), timeline therapy ® and the emotional alignment technique TM. He also uses recorded hypnotherapy and subliminal affirmations as part of his toolbox of effective techniques. Counselling-coaching-and-psychotherapy.
Define Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a popular method for experiencing trance, but it is not the only approach. Researcher Dennis R Wier has been experimenting with trance for more than 35 years. In his book, Trance: from Magic to Technology, he defined trance as “a state of mind being caused by cognitive loops were a cognitive object (thoughts, images, sounds, intentional actions) repeats long enough to result in various sets of disabled cognitive functions.” … “at least some cognitive functions such as volition are disabled as is seen in what is typically termed a ‘hypnotic trance’.
Meditation, addictions, captivation, and frenzy are all trance states. We also see trance states induced from indigenous and religious people’s rhythmic percussion, drumming, chants, and dance.
People also experience trance through television, advertising, trauma, panic attacks, psychosis, euphoria, and some psychedelic drugs such as LSD, peyote, and psilocybin. Counselling-coaching-and-psychotherapy.
People can achieve trance states while dancing, in athletic pursuits and facing real or imagined threats to their survival. Counselling, coaching and psychotherapy.
Hypnosis is not something a hypnotist does to someone, rather the hypnotist expertly guides or facilitates a person to create their own trance state, therefore “All hypnosis is self hypnosis” Counselling, coaching and psychotherapy.
People are usually guided into trance by a hypnotist, who may be a Sharman, mystic, priest, or yogi. With practice, individuals can choose to achieve trance themselves through some forms of meditation, self-hypnosis, and prayer. Counselling, coaching and psychotherapy.
When people think of hypnotic trance they think of sleep. I have had several clients over the years who have said “That did not work. I was not hypnotized, because I was not asleep.” They think hypnotic trance is sleep. The fact is trance can be very active too.
Hypnotherapy is a system of psychotherapy using hypnotism for therapeutic intent. Fundamental changes can occur at the deep unconscious level of mind during trace, often to ‘rewrite’ past mistakes and out of date concepts. Counselling, coaching and psychotherapy.
Define Neurolinguistic Programming, including Time Line Therapy, Emotional Alignment Technique etc
Neuro-Linguistic Programming or NLP explores the relationships between how we think (neuro), how we communicate (linguistic) and our patterns of behavior and emotion (programs).
NLP is an incredibly powerful collection of techniques that can quickly change emotions, beliefs, and behavior’s at the deep unconscious level of mind. Thereby people can think, communicate, and manage themselves, and others, more effectively than ever before. One of the things about NLP that amazes hypnotherapists and psychologists is that it usually does not need a traditional hypnotic trance to effectively create fundamental change at the deep unconscious. Counselling, coaching and psychotherapy.
That is why NLP is one of the most powerful skills used today in advertising, sales, business management, and sports coaching and all forms of personal development.
The logical conscious mind is the goal setter, while your deep unconscious mind is the goal-getter.
If things are not working out in your life, chances are your conscious and deep unconscious are incongruent. NLP removes the unconscious ‘blocks’ so it can align with the conscious mind. Counselling, coaching and psychotherapy.
NLP was created in the 1970s by a psychologist, Richard Bandler, and an assistant professor of Linguistics, John Grinder. Since then, many have contributed to building of the field. Initially, NLP was focused upon health and self-development, perhaps because Bandler and Grinder studied people such as Dr Milton Erickson. Today NLP encompasses education, business, sports, and improved inter-personal communication. It is now used to advance better communication and influence from the pulpit, presentations, advertising, and more.
Time Line Therapy® was developed by the late Tad James. Time Line Therapy® involves treatment at an unconscious level and allows a client to surrender negative emotions linked to past experiences and transform internal programming.
Time Line Therapy® is an NLP therapeutic technique assisting individuals understand how past events have influenced them in the now, and how past events may continue to influence their future. Clients can change the way they feel and think about those toxic past events and therefore improve their mental health and wellbeing.
Between 1995 and 2002 Time Line Therapy® was Peters preferred NLP therapeutic technique. However he had witnessed other practitioners struggle, and occasionally experienced challenges with the technique himself.
Abreactions are strong, often disturbing emotional and even physical reactions to something re-experienced from the past as if real. While some therapy approaches value abreactions as part of the healing process, having witnessed it several times Peter has never subscribed to this concept. Abreactions could re-traumatize rather than achieve the desired healing, particularly if there is no experienced therapist present to ‘rescue’ the patient.
In 2002 Peter began to conceptualize a new therapy model, which negated the shortcomings, such as abreactions, sometimes experienced with the Time-Line method. He tested his theories with his clients. The results were even more successful than expected. He then experimented and perfected the method called Emotional Alignment Therapy, the forerunner of the Emotional Alignment Technique (EAT).
Since 2002 Peter has used the Emotional Alignment Technique (EAT) with many thousands of clients without one experiencing abreactions. Peter has since taught his technique to other therapists, who like him, have found it overcomes all the limitations and challenges of the Time-Line method, while at the same time proving incredibly effective.
Recently published research (2020) by research psychologists has confirmed how and why the Emotional Alignment Technique (EAT) works so effectively.
The Emotional Alignment Technique (EAT) quickly re-aligns conflicts between the logical and analytical conscious mind and the deep unconscious level of mind, which controls people’s lives through health, addiction, depression, anxiety, trauma, negative emotions and self-limiting beliefs. Counselling, Coaching and Psychotherapy.
Peter believes these toxic experiences are negative trance states at the deep unconscious level of mind. The Emotional Alignment Technique (EAT) overwrites these with new self-empowering beliefs and behavior’s.
After having studied and qualified as a Master Practitioner of Hypnotherapy, Peter went to the US to study Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Time Line Therapy ®, with the late Master Trainer Dr. Everett James Ph.D. Hypno (USA), and Master Trainers Julie Silverthorn Psych (USA), John Overduff Psych (USA), Dr. Susan Chu MD. (HK), Ardith James (USA) Dr. Dennis Sartain Ph.D. Psych (UK), and others. Peter Zapfella became a psychotherapist in private practice in 1995.
In 1997 he began working with legendary American Stage Hypnotist Reif Spano. Peter subsequently developed his own Comedy Hypnosis Show and in 2000 he accepted the opportunity to live and work in Sydney during the Sydney Olympic Games. He performed many corporate Comedy Hypnosis Shows including Hyde Park, Sydney before thousands of people, and at Luna Park, Sydney.
Peters on stage hypnosis experiences taught him far more than any training course or therapeutic experiences could do. Counselling, Coaching and Psychotherapy.
At that time Sydney was the centre of NLP trainings in Australia, so Peter was able to repeat his original trainings and attend further trainings with Master Trainers Dr. Everett James Ph.D. Hypno (USA), Dr. Adriana James Ph.D. Hypno, Philippa Bond (AUS), Dr. Michael Hall Ph.D. Psych (USA), Rev. Dr. Bodenhamer Ph.D. Theo (USA), George Faddoul (AUS), Lori Flores (USA), Tim Halborn (USA), Sue Knight (UK), Kis Halborn (USA), Bogdan Bobocea (AUS) and others. Counselling, Coaching and Psychotherapy.
Peter was ‘snapped up’ by the two largest NLP and hypnotherapy event training organisations in Australia to assist overseas trainers present in Sydney.
These opportunities gave Peter an incredible opportunity to learn from the leading innovators in their fields of psychotherapy. It was a key to his understanding which enabled him to create the Emotional Alignment Technique (EAT).
Subliminal Affirmations
Subliminal (/sʌbˈlɪmɨnəl) literally means “below threshold” of conscious perception, below normal conscious recognition, yet within the range of hearing of our deep unconscious. Peter Zapfella’s ‘Welcome’ subliminal messages are like a caring parent or good friend who is inspiring you to develop new behaviors, habits, and beliefs that you already know you need for a happier life. They motivate you to change for the better. They focus your unconscious mind and encourage it to make positive changes as it hears the positive messages repeated over and over again. They can usually be used in the background while driving at work, in the home, and while sleeping, for extended periods of time. For best results listen to the subliminal messages on ‘repeat’ or ‘loop’ for hours at a time. You can listen all night, while you sleep. counselling, Coaching and Psychotherapy.
As part of his continuing professional development Peter is currently a candidate for the Diploma of Counseling. It is a Government & Australian Skills & Quality Authority (ASQA) & Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) accredited. Leading to membership of the Australian Counselling Association and Private Health Insurance Provider.‘ InternetCounselling.au
In order to become motivated to do or achieve something, we really need to change not only what we THINK, but also how we FEEL about that subject. It may be learning a new practical skill, or knowledge so we can pass tests and examinations. It may be cleaning and housework? It may be getting our weight under control? Overcoming bad habits or addictions?
A good place to start is at the beginning. So, ask yourself WHY? Why do you want to achieve that goal? Why is it important enough to invest your limited resources (time and energy)?
…………………………………………………
WHAT gets you out of bed at the start of everyday? No. The answer is not a biological function of the body. It is a need to survive or to make better your situation. What specifically is it?
………………………………………………
HOW are you being prevented? What is un-motivating you?
………………………………………………
The first and foremost belief of our unconscious mind is to protect us from harm, it is responsible for keeping us alive.
Therefore, we are ‘hard-wired’ to move us away from ‘pain’ and toward ‘pleasure’ as a ‘survival instinct’. If we perceive something as difficult or painful, we are ‘hard wired’ to move away from it.
When we are unmotivated about something, it is because we perceive it as unpleasant or even painful. So we avoid it. We look for distractions. List you most common distractions here.
…………………………………………………
I use a metaphor about crossing a river by stepping on stones to keep feet dry.
The goal is to cross the river to the other side without getting wet. Some stones are close and easy, while others are further apart and may need a jump rather than a step. Yet other rocks are slippery covered in moss or algae. Some are loose and unstable. The motivation is to cross the river while remaining dry. The other side of the river is in sight, but it takes effort, and has a risk value too.
In the same way, when needing motivation, we must
(A) Have a clear realistic goal in mind.
(B) Have an achievable plan of action, perhaps in multiple steps.
(C) Take the first steps.
(D) Be flexible, and ready to change to adapt to the unexpected.
(E) Consider cooperating with other likeminded people.
(F) Have fun.
There are two ways to overcome feeling and being un-motivated. I will call them ‘light’ and ‘premium’, much the way they label beer.
Light
Firstly, are your tasks realistic? Do you have the resources to achieve them?
………………………………………………
Are you setting yourself up for failure? Do you need to reassess your goals? Can you break them down into achievable steps, so they all lead to the same goal?
Are you being sabotaged? Is so, by WHOM?
Are there toxic people preventing you from success?
You may need to keep your plans and goals on a ‘need to know’ basis, in strict confidence?
………………………………………………
George Washington is quoted as saying “Associate yourself with men of good quality if you esteem your own reputation; for ‘tis better to be alone than in bad company.”
Your success may be better served by surrounding yourself with people who have the same goals. In that way you can motivate each other.
It may be easier to cross the river with other’s who share the same goal?
Are you un-motivated because you are unorganised? Do you lack personal discipline? Do you need a routine or strict schedule, so you set aside resources such as dedicated time to achieve your goals? So, you set aside distractions such as family commitments, so you can focus and ‘get into the zone’?
Disorganized, scattered thoughts create confused and wasted energy. At worst it can be frenzied, turbulent, chaotic and muddled.
Instead of giving up halfway across the river, look back at how far you have come. It will motivate you to continue toward your goal.
Create a plan of action using S.M.A.R.T.E.R goals. These are:
S
– Simple – uncomplicated
– Sustainable – goals can be maintained
– Specific – to the point
– Stretching – you to your limits
M
– Meaningful – to you
– Motivating – all concerned driven to succeed
– Manageable – systems to control any circumstance
– Measurable – how will you know progression?
A
– Achievable – keep it real
– Attitude – be positive
– As if now – say it in the present tense, not the future.
– Attainable – do you have the resources?
– Adjustable – flexible to changing circumstances
– Aligned – all concerned clear about the BIG picture
– Aspirational – all concerned inspired
– Acceptable – all concerned agree
– Assignable – others can take over roles
R
– Responsible – everyone knows their role of responsibility
– Results – orientated
– Realistic – keep it real
– Relevant – stay on track
T
– Targeted – clear set goals
– Timed – to completion
– Toward – what you want
– Traceable – keep records of who, how and what
E
– Ethical – no one is hurt
– Evaluated – checks and balances
– Ecological – win/win for all concerned
– Enjoyable – keep it fun
R
– Recognition – congratulate a job well done
– Reviewed – constantly check progress
– Rewarded – there must be some personal gain
My 99 year old mother is fond of lists. She writes out a list of jobs or tasks with the highest priorities at the top through to the lowest at the bottom. As they are completed, she proudly ticks them off once complete. From time to time she rewrites her list as new tasks or projects are added and older jobs are completed. She also writes down whatever resources may be needed to complete each task.
Happiness comes from successfully completing each task and needing to rewrite the list. These feel-good experiences actually create endorphins in our brain as a reward. It is important NOT to take a well-earned break or reward until the task has been completed. That way we teach ‘the child mind within’ our deep unconscious mind, that it must complete the task before it earns the reward,
Synonyms of the word motivation include catalyst, desire, encouragement, impetus, impulse, incentive, inclination, interest, motive, passion, reason, wish, action, actuation, angle, disposition, drive, fire, hunger for, inclination, incitement, inducement, instigation, kick, persuasion, predisposition, provocation, push, spur, and stimulus.
Think about the emotions behind these synonyms for a moment. They are all positive. They all attract the unconscious mind toward something, and away from something else. That is the emotional secret to motivation.
By being motivated, what are you moving AWAY from?
……………………………………………………………
What are you moving TOWARD?
……………………………………………………
Now you can make it practical. Before you begin a project, think about how to make the goal pleasurable, even if you promise yourself a reward at the end of it. And make the place or situation where you are moving away from physically and emotionally painful. Then, and only then start moving.
Premium
We take on board everything previously covered in ‘Light’ and build on it using some Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) techniques.
Ask yourself HOW will you know you have achieved your goal?
……………………………………………………………………..
DO you give yourself permission to have an undeniable experience to confirm you have achieved your goal?
……………………………………………………………………
I counsel my clients to identify their own AWAY from and TOWARD emotions. Sometimes that takes a little digging to find it.
Using the Emotional Alignment Technique (EAT) I assist my clients to resolve the specific ‘pain’ issues ‘blocking’ their path forward. In other words, the deep unconscious fears that drive the survival instinct and create un-motivation. The intent is to clear a path TOWARD.
Then we use the ‘Power No’ and if appropriate the ‘Zap Away’ techniques to magnify the AWAY and make them emotionally ‘painful’.
Next, we use the ‘Power Yes’ technique to empower the ‘pleasure’ and ‘reward’ or TOWARD emotions and motivate successful competition of the tasks leading to the goal.
In other words, we magnify the AWAY from and the TOWARD emotions so that the deep unconscious mind becomes powerfully motivated about the clients specific goals.
Finally, I wrap it up with a custom hypnotherapy filled with ‘pleasure’ and positive emotion around the task/s and competition of the goal. Specific motivation for the individual’s personality and circumstances completes the therapy.
I have created specific Prime Hypnosis and Welcome Subliminal Affirmation MP3’s which can be accessed by clicking on the appropriate images above. (Some are currently in production). Vanish Hypnotherapy MP’3s will follow.
Before you know it you are on the other side of the river, exactly where you wanted to be!
Benefits of combining Advanced Hypnotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), and Subliminal Affirmations by Peter Zapfella for Internet Hypnosis.Shop
Peter Zapfella is the first therapist to create MP3 packages with the benefits of combining advanced hypnotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), and subliminal affirmations, and Prime Hypnosis incorporating these affirmations.
“Today is the future you created yesterday, and tomorrow you create in your thoughts today. So be inspired by what your unconscious mind thinks … today.”
There are different approaches to ‘hypnotherapy’. The common hypnosis method used by many online download web sites are a ‘no frills’ approach. They start with a trance induction. Following the hypnotic trance induction positive suggestions are added. This approach is popular with web sites because it is safe, and because they are also ‘abreactive free’.
Abreactions’ may cause a patient or client to ‘fall into’ a past emotional event as if it is real, and become ‘stuck in’ a traumatic event. For this reason, they usually require a suitably trained, and experienced therapist on site. This usually makes age regression therapy unsuitable for MP3 downloads.
That is one important reason why no one to date has dared to use pre recorded and downloadable Time Line® MP3 Therapies.
Patients or clients may become hysterical, cry, become angry or panic. Some therapists are scared of abreactions and refuse to engage in age regression. Others think abreactions are a great way to help neutralize past negative experiences and emotions. Personally, I think there are better, more efficient, less traumatic ways to achieve emotional healing.
‘Prime hypnosis’ fits in this category. It utilizes an advanced hypnosis induction and exactly the same affirmations as found on the corresponding ‘Welcome’ subliminal affirmations. You can clearly hear the affirmations following the hypnotic trance induction. Each MP3 also includes soothing background music and Theta Binaural Waves to promote deep relaxation.
Classic ‘Prime’ Hypnosis MP3s are the basic or primary hypnosis products atInternet Hypnosis. Shop. They have been designed to meet the same level of typical hypnosis MP3 download products, generally available online. They are reasonably priced with discounts under $5 each.
During 2024 Internet Hypnosis dot Shop will introduce almost 500 Classic ‘Prime’ hypnosis and later almost 500 ‘Vanish’ hypnotherapy titles aligned to every subliminal affirmation title. They feature integrated binaural waves and subliminal affirmations.
PRIME HYPNOSIS MP3’s incorporating these affirmations, following a Classic hypnotic induction with professional hypnotherapists Peter Zapfella and Coral Conrad will be added to the line-up during 2024. They are delivered following an advanced hypnotic induction. They are abreaction free. Internet Hypnosis. Shop is the only web site with hypnosis MP3 downloads in English English language video , Chinese Mandarin 中文普通话视频. and Spanish Video en español. Indian Hindi and Indonesian to be added later.
No other web site offers multiple language hypnosis MP3 downloads.
Some people need a different, stronger approach to overcome their personal challenges. That is the Classic ‘Vanish’ Hypnotherapies atInternet Hypnosis dot Shop. Classic ‘Vanish; hypnotherapy is a real or genuine hypnotherapy (designed to ‘cure’ the problem at its source – not just the symptoms). ‘Vanish’ starts with a deep trance induction and then enters a certain place deep within the mind where there is much confusion and chaos. The Classic ‘Vanish’ hypnotherapy bring order and efficiency to that place and helps to resolve the past. Importantly, this method is free from abreactions, and therefore it is suitable for MP3 downloads. I am not aware of any other hypnosis MP3 downloads available on the Internet at this high standard.
The Classic ‘Vanish’ Hypnotherapy trance induction is influenced to some extent by Les Cunningham, the late Australian sports psychologist and hypnotherapist.
Peter Zapfella has combined it with binaural waves and subliminal affirmations.
“Thank you Peter, very much for your kind and generous help. God knows your so very helpful to other people, and especially our family.”
Jenita Cabillas. Mandaue, Cebu. Philippines.
The third hypnotherapy approach is ‘top shelf’ in downloadable MP3’s. Like Classic ‘Vanish’ it is actual hypnotherapy. Not just hypnosis as in ‘Prime Hypnosis’.. This method has been employed in the Premium ‘Freedom From’ Hypnotherapy MP3’s exclusive to Internet Hypnosis dot Shop.
It also involves a deep trance induction, (using BOTHEricksonian and Elmantechniques, plus a dash ofEstabrooks). Another important influence is the late Dr Ormond McGill. When Peter Zapfella asked the Executive Director of the American Institute of Hypnosis to review this script, the response was “WOW! This will put anyone into deep trance.”
“Thank you so much for the audio. What a wonderful way to relax. It’s almost like being in a dream and you are so wonderfully relaxed afterward. I have listened to it every day.” Kind regards, Nikki Anderson. USA.
The Premium ‘Freedom From’ Hypnosis induction is then followed by age regression to the original emotional event. At that point it is neutralized using theEmotional Alignment Technique (EAT).
Both the Classic “Vanish” and Premium “Freedom From” hypnotic inductions and therapeutic techniques are superior to any other currently available anywhere on the Internet.
The Emotional Alignment Technique TM (EAT) is abreaction free. Peter Zapfella used to use the Time Line Therapy ® technique as his preferred age regression and progression model (for almost 10 years) until he developed the Emotional Alignment Technique TM (EAT). After 20 years and many thousands of treatments, no one has ever experienced an abreaction with the Emotional Alignment Technique TM (EAT). The second reason Peter dumped the Time Line Therapy ® technique was, it was ineffective for some individuals, while the Emotional Alignment Technique TM (EAT) has always worked for many thousands of people – abreaction free! Benefits of combining Advanced Hypnotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Program
Peter developed the Emotional Alignment Technique TM (EAT) after witnessing several clients of other therapists abreact. “I am still getting SO much out of the first recording I haven’t started the others. Mostly the improvement is in my happiness, and motivation to care for my life. I have more energy and am interested to improve things around me whereas I was feeling defeated, that life was basically over, and very apathetic and tired both mentally and physically. You have the BEST voice to listen to and I am still journeying through inner mores during the recording because of your voice and the different places it still takes me to. I wish everyone in the world had a personal Peter recording, I really do.”
Best wishes, Beth McLelland. Dianella, Perth, Western Australia
“As your conscious…. listens, your unconscious… learns. Your unconscious creates new neurological connections…. and opens its self to new positive beliefs. These are new possibilities of behavior and new positive experiences of reality.” Peter Zapfella

Sigmund Freud originally used hypnosis to assist his patients to recall and relive traumatic experiences from their past which had been repressed by the unconscious for protection. Freud then abandoned this therapy approach, perhaps because it was so challenging for him as a therapist. Or, it could have been related to his uncomfortable false teeth that made it difficult and uncomfortable for him to speak? (Sigmund Freud was a heavy smoker) Freud decided to let his patients do all the talking while he listened.
Psychoanalyst Carl Jung expressed interest in abreactions as a possible way to purge trauma, but later decided it had serious limitations. Science fiction writer and founder of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard had observed abreactive therapy in a Navy hospital. He wrote about it in his book ‘Dianetics’, claiming it as his own invention. Truth is, it had fallen out of favor as a therapy technique long before he picked it up.
“I’ve definitely noticed some real changes in just one week. I’m so grateful. (I have) told a few of my friends.”

* Dr Milton Erickson was a US psychiatrist with a particular interest in hypnotherapy. He found that the traditional induction methods commonly used at that time were not always effective. Because all hypnosis is self hypnosis and the hypnotist simply guides a person into trance, an individual can resist, and that is their right to do so. hypnosis downloads, hypnosis MP3’s, hypnosis MP3s, free hypnosis,
However, from time to time people resist because they fear the unknown, or they fear losing control. The truth is everyone experiences natural trance in their daily lives, and they are in control when in trance. They just don’t know it. So an experienced hypnotist will usually explain this to his client before he commences. Personally, I often give my clients an MP3 they can listen to in the safety and privacy of their own home to practice a trance induction while listening to my voice,
In the 1940’s and 1950’s Milton Erickson could not do that, so he developed patterns of speech which he could use toslowly introduce trance through conversation.(Imbedded commands such as “Tomatoes Joe, DO NOT FEEL PAIN!) Today we call this Ericksonian hypnosis. Compared to traditional methods it is slow, however it works where other methods may fail.
I use it in many of my own hypnosis sessions at the beginning, to gently commence trance induction. Then I switch to other direct methods.
NOTE: I became aware of a hypnosis MP3 downloads web site that claims to use Ericksonian trance inductions in their ‘uncommon’ products. As a master of Ericksonian Hypnosis myself, I was interested to read their trance induction script. Remember, if someone purchases a hypnosis MP3 we can be pretty sure they choose to be hypnotized, so why use a long Ericksonian induction? I fail to see the purpose of going to so much trouble. Then I read their script, and was immediately disappointed to find their script was short, too short. Therefore it is unlikely to be effective in creating trance in many people. Only around 10 per cent of the general population are somnambulistic (easy to hypnotize), so most people would need a much much longer Ericksonian induction to be effective. Secondly, Milton Erickson used his sensory acuity to monitor trance (breathing rate, heart beat, skin tone etc). That is impossible through MP3 downloads. In short; An Ericksonian hypnoticinduction is unnecessary in the context of a hypnosis MP3 download. The script they have chosen to use is way too brief and ineffective for many people. Perhaps those web site owners wanted the ‘razzmatazz’ of something ‘uncommon’, rather than something which is practical and effective? I guess those web site owners are hoping it is the one in ten somnambulists in our population who will buy their product? I really don’t know.
* Dave Elman came from a stage hypnosis background. His father was a stage hypnotist, and when suffering immense pain from cancer, young Dave watched as a stage hypnotist friend of his father released him from pain, using hypnotherapy, so he could die peacefully.
Dave was hooked, and pursued a career in stage hypnosis and radio. Following a show, a local doctor approached him and asked if he could teach him how to use hypnosis as a therapy for his patients. Before long Dave was teaching doctors throughout the USA how to use hypnotherapy. His techniques were innovative, but based on traditional stage hypnosis.
From Ericksonian hypnotic permissive language, I progress into Elman and other techniques during most of my hypnosis inductions.
* Major George Estabrooks dabbled in hypnosis for military purposes from the 1930’s onward. He was the chair of the psychology department at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. Estabrooks proposed that hypnosis could be used tocontrol people to act as assassins‘ (Manchurian Candidates), and then promptly forget what they had done.US military, FBI and the CIAinvested millions of dollars into research of hypnosis in the years following World War Two and throughout the Korean conflict. They concluded Estabrooks ideas were exaggerated and misleading. Yes, he could hypnotize people and command they shoot someone, but only if they wanted to do so. The research only confirmed that all hypnosis is self hypnosis. For example; a person cannot be hypnotized to rob a bank, unless they want to rob a bank. A person cannot be hypnotized to kill someone, unless they want to kill someone. They certainly cannot be hypnotized to do something that would break their own values and moral code. hypnosis downloads, hypnosis MP3’s, free hypnosis hypnosis,
All stage hypnosis incorporates Estabrooks techniques, or perhaps it is the other way around? Estabrooks direct suggestions or commands have a place in many, if not the majority of hypnotherapy too.
* Ormond McGill was perhaps the greatest stage hypnotist of all time. He is considered to be the “Dean of American Hypnotists”. Ormond was the author of The Encyclopedia of Stage Hypnotism, which is the Bible of all stage hypnotists. He never made claim to be a therapist, although his methods influenced hypnotherapy. He and I corresponded before his death in 2005.
I have studied extensively and been influenced by many leaders in the fields of hypnosis, neuro linguistic programming (NLP), neuro semantics, subliminals and related fields of human mind technologies. There are too many influencers to list here, however I have mentioned them elsewhere on these pages.
In the second half of the twentieth century hypnosis graduated from stage entertainment to a valid therapeutic modality. Hypnosis was officially recognized by the British Government through the Hypnotism Act in 1952. Then in 1958 the British and the American Medical Associations (AMA) sanctioned hypnosis by member physicians. In 1958, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) approved hypnotherapy. In Australia all states deregulated hypnosis by 2000. The most prestigious universities in the world, and other teaching institutions teach hypnotherapy. Insurance companies provide cover for medical and dental services. At long last, hypnotherapy has come of age.
As a footnote: When I studied hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) in the USA some other class mates were from the FBI. Back in Australia I studied together with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) investigators. A family member who is ‘high up’ within his Christian ‘sect’ has told me they also learn NLP, to use either as a therapy for parishioners or perhaps to create ‘trance’ during sermons. I am aware advertising incorporates these techniques too. Hypnosis and NLP use is wide spread. In the hands of these people. It may be clandestine in nature. It may not be used in your best interests.

Typical shared web site hosting faces more security threats than ever. Technologically advanced hackers are constantly trying to steal personal identity details, financial and commercial information. This impacts the security of web site visitors and customers too. Our decision to move to a Dedicated Private Server results in;
Commitment to future growth and development. (Not a monthly subscription, but a prepaid Three-Year Program).
Full control. Better security from hacking attacks.
Protection from cross infection (such as viruses, blacklisting and third-party interference) by other web sites on a shared server.
Increased credibility from our clients and customers because they know their information is protected behind a secure firewall.
Remote back-up of the web sites.
Reliability. Uninterrupted maintenance and troubleshooting support.
Increased capacity for growth of content, including pages and MP3’s.
Increased capacity for daily traffic.
Increased download speeds.
Exclusive IP Address.
Full SSL and anti-virus protection.
and much more.
Our move to a Dedicated Private Server enables our team to give you a safer and better online experience.
I explained our move to someone a few days ago this way. “Imagine you are renting a room in a share house, or perhaps an office in a shared business premises. If someone leaves the backdoor unlocked, or they forget to turn off an electrical device – everyone is threatened. The same applies when a web site is using shared hosting. Everyone on that shared server is threatened, and every customer of every web site is threatened.”
Our decision to move to a Dedicated Private Server arose because…
we were quickly running out of storage on the shared server we were using, as Internet Hypnosis dot Shop continues to grow.
our previous shared hosting site had a ‘hack attack’, that comprised the security of client/customer information.
The move has cost us more in the short term, but it demonstrates our commitment to be a leader in the field of downloadable MP3 therapies on the internet. We are achieving this by creating the largest and most diverse resource of health and lifestyle products, and online psychotherapy, available in English plus other languages. This means THE BEST possible security.
This also gives you THE BEST possible security, greater efficiency, and of course more choice at value prices.

Peter Zapfella has been powered by solar for more than 10 years. He continues to use roof top solar panels to run his electronic equipment as part of his commitment to sustainable energy, and zero carbon emissions. Peter plans to install (off the electrical grid) battery storage supplemented by new offshore wind turbines replacing all fossil fueled electrical generators on the electricity grid, in a few short years.
In the not-too-distant future zero carbon emissions will extend to the dedicated private servers too.

Binaural waves are an auditory illusion. They are perceived by the human brain when two different pure-tone sine waves, both with frequencies lower than 1500 Hz, with less than 40 Hz difference between them, are presented to the listener dichotically. The brain then creates a third phantom wave, which balances the two pure-tones in each ear. Therefore, they are most effective when heard with headphones, a different tone in each ear.
For example, if you were to listen to the Internet Hypnosis. Shop Theta Binaural Waves, a 200Hz tone would be heard in one ear and a 205Hz tone in the other ear. Your brain would then create a third phantom tone of 5Hz which would generate a brain state that would make you feel very relaxed and even sleepy. This is a brainwave range of 4Hz – 7Hz we call Theta.
The new Front Page image on the Peter Zapfella web site www.PeterZapfella.com depicts the image of a young man sitting high above a seascape, and rocky offshore islands. Perhaps he is pondering the mysteries of life? Perhaps he is pondering his own highest purpose of life?
The photo depicts a young man sitting and thinking, perhaps meditating on what lies before him. A rocky island, perhaps suggesting independence and stability? It also suggests challenges and the euphoria’s of reaching the top. Reaching the true potential of personal growth.
In Colour Therapy blue is a colour of integrity.
Previous Cover Image
Some one asked me what is the significance of the (previous) cover image for the website. The photo depicts what appears to be a young woman running down a country road away from the camera.
Symbolically, I interpret it as representing physical and mental health, in a natural environment moving toward the future, with goal orientation and determination, step-by-step. Green is a colour of health and healing.
