There are 3 main types of learning. They are;

  • classical
  • operant conditioning (both forms of associative learning) and
  • observational learning.

Both classical and operant conditioning are forms of associative learning, in which associations are made between events that occur together. Observational learning is just as it sounds: learning by observing others.

Operant conditioning is learnt by reinforcement or punishment. This either strengthens or weakens a response.
